Sometimes Xbox.com (or Passport - err - whatever they want to call it this week) may have an issue.  I'm still working on getting XBF to handle all of these in a better model; though it's difficult to test everything accordingly.

If you encounter such issues, make sure that you can indeed use your browser to visit http://www.xbox.com and successfully sign in.  If you can and are still having problems, please send me what URL you end up (at Xbox.com) and, if applicable, what language / version of Windows you are using.

I get the same error on occassion.  When it happens I cannot get onto the xbox.com website either.  Next time try deleting all of your temporary internet files and cookies.  Works every time for me.  It seems like there is an issue with the xbox.com site and xboxfriends handling the same info.  It doesn't happen when I leave friends off.

I think I might have narrowed it down some.  It seems to happen when the gamercards are refreshing.  It hangs mid-update.  Once it hangs and you exit friends you can't get on friends or xbox.com.  My work-around detailed above still does the trick in the meantime.  Also if I have the sound on my PC turned up, I can actually hear it clicking as if I was changing or refreshing web pages.  Hope this helps.

Great.  I'll see if I can track things down this weekend.
